VT = Very Troubled

Once again, they use the word "loner" to describe the Virginia Tech shooter. That would be an understatement. According to his classmates, Cho Seung-Hui never spoke. When the teacher asked him his name, he held up a piece of paper with a question mark. He sat in class with his head down, and never took his sunglasses off. His idea of a class project was to take pictures of his classmates and describe how he'd like to kill them....and on...and on....and on....
Now we're asking "how could this happen"? Here's how: We live in the "he's just expressing himself" generation. Where, no matter how bizarre, twisted, or different a person may act, it's his right of expression. How many stories have we heard about a student who was kicked out of school because of his "offensive" behavior, only to have the parents sue the school and say it was "his right"? We are the problem. Not every behavior is appropriate.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to put my pants back on.

What I find even more ridiculous is how some people are saying "Well, this wouldn't have been as bad if all the students were allowed to carry guns.." Well, yes that's true, if some students had guns the gunman probably would have been shot before he could kill more people.. but... that still leaves people going home in body bags.. No guns = no gun violence. DUH! I'd say fighting fire (or gunfire in this matter) with fire is highly impracticle, Just stop it at the source. And you're right, if people had just done something about his obviously erratic behavior than maybe this would have never happened... History tends to repeat itself if nothing changes, and I can sadly say that something like this was inevitable to happen, and will probably happen again if nothing is done to prevent it.

Re: Gun Control, Gun Laws, Etc...

I'm not really a fan of either side of the debate using VT to push their agendas but since it was commented on here already, Well I'm not gonna get into it wholeheartedly but here's a link for ya to mull over:

Re: What Erin spoke of... I agree. The warning signs were there and the chance to do something about it before this tragedy happened was there as well. Problem is no one wanted to be 'that person' that took any sort of action more than likely for the reasons mentioned. Fear of reprisals, being sued, etc for 'violating his rights.' Not only that but I'm sure it is entirely possible in the back of someones mind was the whole 'being labeled a racist' thing as well.

Bottom line though: Anyone with half a brain could tell something was seriously scarey/disturbing/wrong about this guy before the shooting ever happened.
