Indiana Jones HORRIBLE
If I had to describe the new Indiana Jones movie in one word it would be: whatahorriblepieceofshit!!! or just plain CORNY! There is NO excuse for this movie to be as poorly written and directed as it was. It's Spielberg and Lucas for God sake! I feel like they took advantage of the audience and are laughing all the way to the bank. SUCKERS! From the obvious "green screen" scenes to the spaceship (yes spaceship) and ailens, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. And that's just the beginning! Once again, George Lucas feels the need to add SILLY CGI animal characters to appeal to the 8 yr olds (remember Jar Jar Binks?). CORNY! All of the over-the-top fight scenes were like watching a video game. SOOOOOO FAKE!!! And the fact that they made Shia LaBeouf Indy's son is ridiculous! Why couldn't he have been a student of his? Then we wouldn' t have to go through the AGONY of seeing the return of Karen Allen(aka Mom Marion) who hasn't improved her acting skills since the first movie....I can go on and on and on. I know my opinion is not going to stop you from seeing this movie, and it shouldn't. But I'll leave you with this bit of advice. If you want to see a more believable movie than the new "Indiana Jones" may I suggest renting "Flash Gordon".

Hey Erin! I see where you're coming from. A lot of people seemed disappointed in the movie. Personally, I enjoyed it. By no means is the movie on the same level as the original three movies, but nonetheless, I enjoyed it.
Did I find it corny? Sure. Was the story solid? It was so-so. But for what it was worth, I found it entertaining. But I can understand why a lot of people were disappointed. I think people set their expectations too high -->but that's justified considering that Spielberg, Lucas, and Ford are involved. Those are some of Hollywood's heaviest hitters. But they're not the mavericks that they were 20+ years ago.
If people came into the movie expecting a grand epic that was going to re-invent and revitalize the franchise, then they're going to be sorely disappointed. But if you expected something along the lines of Lucas' more recent work (the Star Wars prequels), then this movie delivers.
I really think Lucas' wanted to do a movie that paid homage to the adventures and serials he loved when he was younger. The opening, "American Graffiti-esque" sequence alone is a reflection of Lucas' childhood and teenage years, and the sci-fi overtones were very "Flash Gordon-ish" which shouldn't come as a surprise since George Lucas credits the original Flash Gordon serials as one of his inspirations for Star Wars.
BUT I see where you're coming from Erin and I can sympathize with you. BTW, you were HOT at the Rock Girl search at Austin's Saloon -->it's too bad that Leah, the Rock Girl qualifier, didn't do a better job frisking you. LOL. Why does The Loop even need a Rock Girl when they have you there. ;-)
